Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says any part of reopening the Prince Albert pulp mill will involve talking with aboriginal groups.

Wall says members of the Montreal Lake First Nation were not consulted when the previous N-D-P government signed a memorandum of understanding to reopen the mill.

The Saskatchewan party government pulled out of the memorandum with Domtar because it didn’t like that the agreement included $100 million of taxpayers money.

Wall says the government’s priority is to get the mill open, but he wouldn’t use taxpayer dollars to accomplish that.

Members of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union hope to persuade the provincial government to reopen the pulp mill in Prince Albert.

The union has a rally planned for noon today at the legislature.
