A spokesman for the Department of National Defence says there is no evidence of forgotten explosives lying around on Saskatchewan reserves.

A recent report indicated 25 reserves across the country could possibly be laden with discarded military ordnance.

Some reserves in Alberta and the Yukon were even named.

However, public affairs advisor David Martin says none of the material is on First Nations in this province.

The department is now preparing to use advanced metal detectors to retrieve the explosives — a process which could take years.
