The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team is attempting a second recovery dive to bring a small float plane to the surface that went missing in 1959 in Peter Pond Lake.

The plane was located by using sonar technology last July and the first attempt to recover the plane had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

The dive was postponed until the winter, so the recovery team could use the ice as a dive platform.

The Cessna 180 was travelling from Buffalo Narrows to La Loche, when it encountered foggy conditions and crashed, killing both the pilot and his passenger.
