MNC Stance On Election Disappoints Harrison

Northern Saskatchewan’s MP is expressing disappointment with the Metis National Council’s decision to endorse the Liberals.
The Conservatives’ Jeremy Harrison says he was looking forward to a meeting with the MNC next week, but the Metis group has now called it off.
He says the questions the MNC wanted answered were too legally complex to simply answer on paper.
Despite this setback, Harrison believes he’s getting through to Metis voters in northern Saskatchewan.
Harrison says during a recent swing through Metis communities in northwest Saskatchewan, residents expressed frustration that the Liberals hadn’t been planning to compensate survivors of a boarding school in Ile-a-la-Crosse.
However, he notes they were pleased to hear the Conservatives had promised to come through with compensation.
Harrison also says Metis residents in the riding seem very supportive of the Conservatives’ plan to compensative Metis war veterans — something he points out the Liberals have refused to do.
