Suspects In Gas Bar Beating Appear In Court

The four youths accused of taking part in a swarming of a man at a gas bar in Air Ronge over the weekend have been released from custody on certain conditions.

 

The teenage boys, who range in age from 16 to 17, are all facing a charge of aggravated assault in the beating of an employee at the Co-op Gas Bar and Convenience Store Saturday evening.

 

They made an appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court yesterday and some of them will be back in court on May 16th, while others will be in court on May 24th.

 

Meanwhile, the 20-year-old man also facing an aggravated assault charge in connection to the beating has been identified.

 

Darwin Ritchie has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday.

 

The 40-year-old victim in the assault was hospitalized with undetermined injuries.
