Doucette Contemplating Legal Action

One of the men who ran in the Metis Nation – Saskatchewan election this spring is considering his legal options today.

Robert Doucette says he feels frustrated and disheartened by yesterday’s naming of Dwayne Roth as MNS president.

Doucette was initially declared the winner of the election, only to see his win overturned hours later by the Metis Elections Commission.

Doucette also says there are many Metis in the province who still have questions about the election and don’t feel the MNS is listening to them.

Doucette adds he was never contacted about the decision.

He also questions the commission’s decision to hold last month’s appeals process behind closed doors.
