Officials with the Mamawetan Churchill River Regional Health Authority have introduced new technology to enhance communications at the La Ronge Health Centre.
A “well wishes” feature has been added to the health region’s website which allows messages to be sent to patients.
CEO Andrew McLetchie says it should be useful to people across the north:
“Such a large region, and often we have people from all different communities — sometimes hundreds of kilometres away from La Ronge — so we know sometimes the challenge of being in the hospital is not having that contact with a loves one, so we wanted to make sure that people had the ability to stay in contact.”
Meanwhile, McLetchie says for users of hand-held and other digital devices, Wi-Fi service is now available on the lower level of the health centre.
