Three people are facing charges following a months-long investigation into a Regina collision that police allege was deliberately staged.
Regina Police say officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 9th Avenue North and Pinkie Road at around 9 p.m. on January 4, 2026.
Officers arrived to find two vehicles that had been involved in a head-on collision. Four people, a driver and passenger from each vehicle, were assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital with what appeared to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.
Police say several months later, SGI contacted the Regina Police Service after uncovering evidence suggesting the collision may have been intentionally staged.
An investigation involving SGI’s Special Investigations Unit and several Regina Police Service units was launched. Police say investigators ultimately determined the collision had been deliberately staged.
Three of the four people involved in the collision were arrested on September 9.
23-year-old Sukhveer Kaur is charged with fraud over $5,000.
24-year-old Akashdeep Singh and 26-year-old Gagandeep Singh are each charged with fraud over $5,000 and three counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm.
All three made their first court appearances on the charges in Regina Provincial Court on September 10.
