Personal, health, financial and child and family service information may have been accessed during an August cybersecurity incident.
The Saskatoon Tribal Council says it is investigating a cybersecurity incident that may have resulted in unauthorized access to personal information.
STC says the incident was identified on August 21 and prompted an immediate response involving third-party cybersecurity experts and Saskatoon law enforcement.
The organization says its investigation has determined that information potentially affected may include government-issued identifiers, health information, child and family service records, employment and human resources records, and financial information.
The investigation and review of impacted systems remain ongoing.
STC says people determined to have been affected will be contacted directly and offered credit monitoring at no cost.
In the meantime, community members are being encouraged to watch for phishing attempts and monitor their accounts, credit reports and financial statements for unusual activity.
Anyone who has shared sensitive personal information with STC and is concerned they may be affected can contact response@sktc.sk.ca for information or support.
STC says further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
