Prince Albert Police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate the theft of construction fencing from a community garden in the 1800 block of 15th Avenue East.

Police received a report on October 5 after it was discovered that fencing surrounding the garden had been removed. Investigators determined that 36 fence panels were stolen during two separate incidents between October 1 and October 5.

The stolen fencing is described as red metal construction panels measuring approximately six feet by 10 feet. Each panel is valued at about $150, bringing the total estimated value of the theft to roughly $6,000.

Police say some of the hardware and footing pieces used to secure the fencing were left behind. Due to the size of the panels, investigators believe they would have been disassembled and transported in a suitable vehicle.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity near the community garden, saw people removing or transporting fencing, or has information about the theft is asked to contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222.
