Regina police are investigating the city’s fifth homicide of 2026 after a woman who was seriously injured in an aggravated assault died from her injuries.
Police were called to the west alley of the 1400 block of Wascana Street around 4 a.m. on Aug. 14, where they found 37-year-old Rebecca Autumn (Wilson) Mathieson suffering from significant injuries.
Mathieson was transported to hospital by EMS and died on Aug. 30.
The Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit is now working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to determine the circumstances that led to her death.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Regina police or Crime Stoppers.
