The Yorkton Terriers have launched their latest Power Play Lotto fundraiser, giving supporters a chance to win a 2026 Hyundai Venue while helping support the SJHL club ahead of the upcoming season.

Terriers president Curtis Malysh said the lottery officially kicked off this week in partnership with Yorkton Hyundai.

Tickets are available for $20 each, with an optional 50/50 add-on priced at $5 for one ticket or three for $10.

Head coach Emery Olauson said the lottery is an important fundraising initiative for the organization.

“The funds help the Terriers keep the lights on and continue growing our brand and our organization,” Olauson said. “We couldn’t be more thankful for the people that made this happen.”

The vehicle winner is expected to be drawn in November.

The launch comes as the Terriers prepare for the start of another SJHL campaign. Yorkton’s home opener is scheduled for Sept. 19 against the Estevan Bruins, following a pre-season home game Sept. 11 against the rival Melville Millionaires.

Olauson said the club enters the season with a mix of returning veterans and newcomers after reaching the SJHL final last year.

“The guys that do return had great playoff experience making it all the way to the final last year,” he said. “We’re really, really excited about both the new guys coming in and the returning guys.”

Defenceman Thomas Ries, entering his third season with the Terriers, said the team is looking forward to the challenge of a 56-game schedule.

“It should be fun and high hopes for everyone,” Ries said.

Ries added that games against Melville remain among the most anticipated dates on the schedule.

The Power Play Lotto is now underway, with proceeds supporting the Terriers’ operations as the club prepares to open the 2026-27 season later this month.
