Three adult males are facing charges in relation to an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Regina.
On August 31, 2026, members of the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit, with the assistance of the Robbery Unit, Regina Intelligence Unit and the SWAT team searched three residences under the authority of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) – one in the area of Sangster Blvd, another in the 700 block of Argyle Street North and the third in the 100 block of Markwell Drive.
As a result of the three search warrants being executed, the following was located and seized:
- Approximately 2,500 grams of cocaine
- 2,000 grams of methamphetamine
- A large amount of unknown pills
- Approximately $2,200 in Canadian Currency
The approximate current value of the seizure is estimated to be $200,000.
As a result of this ongoing investigation,
36-year-old James Thomas is charged with:
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2);and
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000.00 [CC 355(b)].

- Trafficking Cocaine [CDSA 5(1)].

All three made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday September 1, 2026.
The investigation is ongoing. It is also one of three unrelated, but significant, drug trafficking investigations in the past month. Each resulted in charges and significant amounts of illicit drugs being seized.
On August 17, 2026, three people were charged in relation to the production and trafficking of fentanyl in the city of Regina. It is believed this seizure prevented well over 50,000 single doses of illicit fentanyl from being distributed on the streets of Regina. On August 27, 2026, Regina Police Service investigators charged a suspect from Alberta in relation to the trafficking of fentanyl in Regina. Approximately 3.5 kilograms of fentanyl was seized. The approximate street value of this seizure is $350,000. Learn more.
