A 20-year-old man is facing multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, following a stabbing on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation last week.
Loon Lake RCMP say officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a home on the First Nation around 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18. An adult male was transported to hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained during an altercation.
Following an investigation involving the Loon Lake RCMP, the Battlefords RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, Forensic Identification Services, Police Dog Services, and Meadow Lake RCMP, an adult male was located and arrested without incident at another residence on the First Nation.
Police say the suspect also required medical treatment before being released into police custody.
DJ Blueeyes, 20, of Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation, has been charged with, one count of assault with a weapon, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and one count of failure to comply with a probation order
Blueeyes was scheduled to make his first appearance in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Monday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 a.m.
