Brian Hardlotte has been acclaimed to a fourth term as Grand Chief of the Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC), extending his leadership of the organization representing First Nations and northern communities across Saskatchewan.
The acclamation came after Hardlotte, a member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, was the only candidate nominated for the position ahead of PAGC’s annual assembly.
“I’m deeply honoured by the continued trust our leadership has placed in me,” said Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte. “That trust comes with a responsibility to keep pushing forward on the issues that matter to our Nations and our people. We have work to do, and I’m ready to get back to it.”
Since first being elected Grand Chief in 2017, Hardlotte has led the organization through a number of initiatives focused on strengthening First Nations governance and improving services for member communities.
“Our Nations know what their priorities are and where change is needed,” said Grand Chief Hardlotte. “Our job at PAGC is to stand behind them, amplify their voices and make sure governments and decision-makers listen. That work doesn’t stop.”
