Family, friends, and community members will be gathering in Prince Albert tonight to honour the life of Peyton Flett and support her loved ones as they grieve her loss.

A vigil is being held on what would have been Peyton’s 15th birthday.

The event is being organized on behalf of Peyton’s family, Shoal Lake Cree Nation, and Red Earth Cree Nation.

Organizers say the evening will be a time for prayer, reflection, remembrance, and community support as family members and friends come together to celebrate Peyton’s life and remember her.

The vigil will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the MMIWG2S Sisters in Spirit Monument on the Prince Albert riverbank, located on River Street.

Organizers are asking those attending to come with kindness and respect for Peyton’s family during this difficult time.

Everyone is welcome to attend and show support for Peyton and her loved ones she leaves behind.
