Regina Police have charged a third person in connection with a double homicide investigation that began on August 11 in the 1100 block of Elphinstone Street.

Police were called to the area at approximately 4:30 a.m. on August 11 after receiving reports that two people had been shot. Officers located a 42-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man deceased outside a residence. The Regina Police Service Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Unit and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service were called in to assist with the investigation.

On August 18, police announced that 30-year-old Faizon Alexson has been charged with: 2 counts of second-degree murder; possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order (X4); and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Alexson is scheduled to make his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on August 19 at 9:30 a.m.

Police say two other individuals have also been charged in connection with the case. 42-year-old Rose Sparvier faces 2 counts of second-degree murder, while 19-year-old Patricia Stevenson is charged with 2 counts of second-degree murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.

At the request of the victims’ families, Regina Police have not released the names of the deceased.
