A Prince Albert woman is facing drug trafficking and impaired driving charges after an RCMP traffic stop led to the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, cash and weapons.
Prince Albert RCMP say officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 2 in the RM of Buckland on Aug. 2 after observing it speeding and swerving. Police administered an oral fluid test, which allegedly indicated the driver had recently consumed cocaine. She was arrested.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of about 55 grams of cocaine, 11 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of cash, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a can of bear spray.
Investigators later executed a search warrant at a residence in Prince Albert, where they seized nearly 200 grams of cocaine, additional trafficking paraphernalia, a large amount of cash and an imitation firearm.
As a result, 31-year-old Brianne Weber of Prince Albert has been charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, impaired operation of a vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Weber was remanded into custody and made her first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Aug. 4.
