Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster Crime Reduction Team (CRT) seized seven different illicit substances and three firearms during a traffic stop in Lloydminster, SK.
At approximately 5:00 p.m., on August 18, 2026 Saskatchewan RCMP’s Lloydminster CRT received a report of an armed male believed to be travelling in a vehicle towards the Lloydminster or Battlefords area.
The vehicle was located on Highway #16, near Lloydminster, where officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop.
As a result of investigation, three occupants were arrested at the scene.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle and the arrested individuals, officers located a number of illicit substances and weapons.
The illicit substances seized by officers included approximately:
- 447 grams of fentanyl;
- 761 grams of cocaine;
- 85 grams of methamphetamine;
- 226 grams of psilocybin;
- 700 millilitres of gamma hydroxybutyrate;
- 2627 pharmaceutical-style oxycodone pills; and
- 441 pharmaceutical-style Xanax pills.
Lloydminster CRT also seized:
- three firearms, including a loaded handgun;
- three loaded firearms magazines; and
- almost 1000 rounds of ammunition.
Further investigation determined one of the occupants had removed a court-ordered electronic monitoring device earlier that day.
As a result of continued investigation, 28-year-old Omar Cristiano Caceres from Bonnyville, AB, 26-year-old Zanielle Demarais from Lloydminster, SK, and 30-year-old Kevin Kahmahkotayo from Lloydminster, SK, are each charged with:
- three counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code;
- three counts, possession of a firearm in motor vehicle, Section 94, Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of firearm with tampered serial number, Section 108(1)(b), Criminal Code; and
- seven counts, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Omar Cristiano Caceres is additionally charged with:
- six counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code;
- five counts, possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(2), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.
Omar Cristiano Caceres was also arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order.
Kevin Kahmahkotayo is additionally charged with
- one count, fail to comply with release order condition, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code; and
- five counts, possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(2), Criminal Code.
Zanielle Demarais is additionally charged with five counts, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code.
Omar Cristiano Caceres, Zanielle Demarais, and Kevin Kahmahkotayo appeared in Lloydminster Provincial Court on August 20, 2026 (Information #90579907).
