The Town of La Ronge is promoting 26 properties at the La Ronge Airport for lease following the completion of a subdivision process that created new development opportunities.
Lyle Hannon, CAO for the Town of La Ronge, said the newly created lots are now being marketed to businesses and investors interested in aviation and non-aviation uses.
“The Town had to create new lots through the subdivision process,” Hannon told SaskToday. “Now that the subdivision is finalized, the lots are being promoted.”
While airport land has been available for lease in the past, the subdivision process has formalized additional areas that can now be offered to potential developers.
The available properties vary in size and are intended to accommodate different development needs, said Hannon.
Current airport tenants include businesses supporting airline operations, companies that use aircraft to service surrounding areas, tourism operators and private aircraft owners.
The Town said the airport properties are not limited to aviation-related development. There are lots available for non-aviation uses as well.
Infrastructure availability varies at the airport. The town said municipal water and sewer services are not currently available for the lots, with properties relying on private tank services through pump-and-haul systems.
To support potential investment, the town is offering long-term lease options that can assist businesses requiring financing for development.
The Town of La Ronge said the expanded availability of airport land creates opportunities for businesses looking to establish operations in La Ronge.
