A Canadian health and wellness company is accepting applications for a $25,000 grant designed to support Indigenous entrepreneurs and Indigenous-owned businesses across the country.
Toronto-based company nomz is offering the grant for the seventh consecutive year. Applications close on Sept. 1, with the 2026 recipient set to be announced on Sept. 30.
The initiative was established by nomz founder Jana Zaibak, who credited a summer spent interning with the Moose Cree community in Moose Factory, Ont., as the inspiration for both her business and her commitment to giving back.
“That summer gave me so much, and I’ve carried that gratitude with me ever since,” Zaibak said. “We’re fortunate to live and build our business on this land, and we know it was not ours to begin with. This grant is a small way we can give back and support Indigenous entrepreneurs.”
One recipient will receive $25,000 to help launch a new business concept or expand an existing venture. Submissions are evaluated by a review committee composed of Indigenous community members and former grant recipients, with a focus on community impact and growth potential.
Previous grant recipients include Authentically Rooted Wellness, My Breast Day, Tradish, Bear Island Maple Syrup, Kwey Cuisine, Sapling & Flint, and Endaayaan Awejaa.
