Prince Albert police are investigating the city’s latest homicide after a 27-year-old woman died following a stabbing early Thursday morning.
The Prince Albert Police Service says officers were called to the unit block of 14th Street East at about 1:55 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.
They found 27-year-old Daina Gauthier suffering from serious injuries and began providing first aid before Parkland Ambulance transported her to hospital. She later died.
An autopsy completed Thursday confirmed Gauthier’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
Police say a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl have been arrested in connection with the investigation, but no charges have been announced.
The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section are continuing to investigate with assistance from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.
