On July 22, 2026, La Ronge RCMP received a report of three missing individuals, 49-year-old Roderick Bird, 67-year-old Emil Ratt, and 48-year-old Ricky McKenzie.

They were last reported to be on Highway #165, approximately 10 kilometers north of Highway #106 near Jayjay Lake at approximately 6:45 p.m. on July 22, 2026.

The three men are on a planned foraging trip, traveling on foot.

Since they were reported missing, La Ronge RCMP have engaged Saskatchewan RCMP’s Search and Rescue (SAR), Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services (PDS), RCMP Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), and Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to assist in the search.

All three males are wearing orange vests and sweatpants.

If you have seen or spoken with Roderick, Emil, or Ricky, or know where they are, contact La Ronge RCMP at 310-RCMP.

Additionally, La Ronge RCMP are asking anyone who lives in the Jayjay Lake area to check their home security cameras, doorbell cameras, and dashcams on the evening of July 22 or anytime July 23.
