Three teenagers from Île-à-la-Crosse are facing multiple weapons-related charges after a reported firearm discharge in the community.
Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP say officers received a report at approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 16 of a firearm discharge in a treed area near Amisk Crescent.
Police were told that three teenaged males were seen leaving the area shortly after the incident.
Officers responded and located the youths on Lajeunesse Avenue.
Following an investigation, all three were arrested.
RCMP say two sawed-off firearms and bear spray were seized during the arrests.
Each of the three teens faces charges that include possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunition without licence or registration, possession of a concealed weapon, careless use of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Two of the youths are also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.
A third teen faces additional charges of weapons possession contrary to a court order and possession of a firearm while knowing possession was unauthorized.
The identities of the accused cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All three are scheduled to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on July 20, 2026 (Information #Y412130).
