The Wollaston Lake Barge is now operating for the season, which operates between the community of Wollaston Lake and Highway 905.
Operated by Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nation under contract with the Saskatchewan government, it is the province’s only cable-free barge and the only one that requires pre-booking.
The barge makes two crossings daily at 6 a.m. and noon, with a load limit of 19,000 kilograms and vehicle size restrictions in place.
Travellers are reminded that reservations are required and can check the barge’s status through the Highway Hotline or by calling 306-633-2050.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and check local schedules before travelling.
