On May 28, 2026, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Stanley Mission RCMP received a report of a firearm being discharged in the community of Grandmother’s Bay.
Stanley Mission RCMP, with assistance from La Ronge RCMP, responded and determined that an adult male had discharged a firearm multiple times outside of a residence in Grandmother’s Bay.
Officers responded immediately and located and seized a firearm at the residence.
After further investigation, police located the adult male at a nearby residence, with a loaded firearm.
Officers arrested the male and seized the second firearm.
No injuries were reported to police.
As a result of the investigation, 43-year-old Stanley McKenzie of Grandmother’s Bay, SK has been charged with: unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm (x2), discharge firearm with intent, and careless use of a firearm.
