Rose Valley RCMP are asking the public for help in locating three male suspects in relation to a shooting and robbery on Yellow Quill First Nation, SK.
Investigation determined a group of individuals approached two males walking on Yellow Quill First Nation on the evening of June 20. The group of individuals robbed the two males with a firearm. The firearm was discharged, injuring one of the males. The group of individuals fled the scene.
The incident was reported to Rose Valley RCMP on the evening of June 21. The injured male reported non-life-threatening injuries to police. He was treated in hospital.
Rose Valley RCMP and Yorkton RCMP Police Dog Services searched the area for the suspects but did not locate them.
As a result of continued investigation, three adult males have been charged.
23-year-old Kynan Desjarlais from Yellow Quill First Nation has been charged with:
- two counts, robbery with firearm, Section 344, Criminal Code;
- one count, discharge firearm while being reckless, Section 244.2(3), Criminal Code;
- one count, discharge firearm with intent, Section 244, Criminal Code;
- one count, assault with a weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;
- one count, careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized, Section 92(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, using firearm in commission of an offence, Section 85(1)(a), Criminal Code;
- one count, carrying a concealed weapon, Section 90(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a restricted firearm, Section 95(1), Criminal Code;
- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code; and
- one count, pointing a firearm, Section 87(1), Criminal Code (Information #90483082).
32-year-old Damon Nippi from Yellow Quill First Nation has been charged with:
- two counts, robbery with firearm, Section 344, Criminal Code; and
- one count, fail to comply with release order conditions, Section 145(5)(a), Criminal Code (Information #90483084).
29-year-old Rylance Quewezance from Saskatoon has been charged with one count, robbery with firearm, Section 344, Criminal Code (Information #90483083).
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of all three suspects. Rose Valley RCMP are asking the public for help in locating them. The suspects are known to travel to the Saskatoon area.
