More than 1,300 residents from Red Earth Cree Nation and Shoal Lake Cree Nation remain out of their communities as wildfires continue to threaten parts of northeastern Saskatchewan.
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency says firefighters have been able to protect homes and critical infrastructure, with no losses reported so far.
Evacuees have been relocated to Prince Albert, Saskatoon and Regina while crews continue to battle the fires.
Meanwhile, the Lobstick wildfire near Shellbrook had grown to approximately 19,000 hectares as of Sunday afternoon.
About 130 people were evacuated from the South RM of Shellbrook on Friday due to the fire.
Fire crews, heavy equipment and aircraft remain active on the fire, which continues to burn in the region northwest of Prince Albert.
The SPSA is expected to provide another wildfire update Monday as hot, dry and windy conditions continue to challenge firefighting efforts across the province.
