Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit has charged a man with second-degree murder following a suspicious death in Pelican Narrows earlier this week.

Mounties say officers were called to a residence around 3:40 a.m. on May 21st after receiving reports of an injured man.

When officers arrived, they located 26-year-old Jaden Custer of Pelican Narrows. EMS later declared him deceased at the scene.

RCMP determined the death to be suspicious and the homicide unit took over the investigation.

Police say 31-year-old Brett McCallum, who also goes by the name Nigel McCallum, is now wanted on a charge of second-degree murder in connection to Custer’s death.

Investigators say McCallum is known to travel to the Prince Albert area, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

RCMP are warning the public not to approach him and are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Custer’s family has been notified and victim services have been made available.
