The Rural Municipality of Nipawin No. 487 has announced temporary road closures due to flooding, as water covers several roadways across the area.
The RM of Nipawin posted on social media that the closures are in place to protect public safety and prevent damage to vehicles and infrastructure, with affected locations identified on a municipal map.
The flooding is along the grid road west of Wapiti ski hill that leads to the Outerbanks cabins and Township road 480 straight west of Gronlid.
Residents are urged to avoid driving through flooded areas and to obey all posted road closure signs and barricades. Crews continue to monitor conditions and respond to problem areas as they arise the RM of Nipawin said.
The municipality is also asking the public to report trouble spots, including blocked culverts, rising water levels or other drainage concerns, to help crews respond more quickly.
