On March 24, 2026, Nipawin RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle rollover near Codette, SK.

Investigation determined an that two adults were in the vehicle at the time of the rollover, one male and one female.

The female, who did not report injuries to police, was at the scene when police arrived, mean while the male left the scene.

Officers located a sawed-off firearm, a loaded handgun, ammunition, approximately 14 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 15 grams of fentanyl and approximately 149 unknown pharmaceutical-style pills in the vehicle.

Resulting in the female being taken into custody.

As a result of continued investigation, 45-year-old Genevieve McKay is charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine); possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl); possession (fentanyl); unauthorized possession of a firearm (X2); unauthorized possession of a prohibited device; unsafe storage of a firearm(X2); possession of a firearm/ammunition in a motor vehicle(X3); unlicensed possession of a firearm with ammunition; possession of a weapon obtained by crime and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

She is scheduled to appear in Nipawin Provincial Court on April 2, 2026.

Nipawin RCMP continue to investigate, including locating the male that left the scene of the rollover.
