Within the past 36 hours, Onion Lake Cree Nation has seen a significant increase in suspected overdoses.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) has reported an increase in drug overdose incidents in the area, with multiple instances requiring naloxone administration.

Currently, there have been no reported fatalities.

We do not have information on the substance involved; however, there is a concern that a potentially dangerous or contaminated batch may be circulating in the community and in the surrounding areas.

This alert has been issued to health care providers, pharmacy, Emergency room at the local hospital, public health teams, residents of Onion Lake Cree Nation and surrounding area by Indigenous Services Canada, Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority and the community of Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Please refrain from accessing all sort of unknown drug on the streets
