An inmate has died and two others were sent to hospital after an altercation at Saskatchewan Penitentiary.
Corrections officials say the altercation on Tuesday involved several inmates.
The inmate who died has been identified as Horace Bear.
Officials say the prison’s maximum-security unit was locked down, and the institution is operating on a modified routine to ensure safety.
RCMP confirmed the death is being investigated as a homicide.
