A single vote decided the outcome of the April 22 by-election in the Village of Air Ronge, underscoring the impact of every ballot cast.

According to official results, Brent McDougall received 68 votes, narrowly defeating Ronald Ratté, who received 67 votes. McDougall will serve as the village’s newest councillor.

A total of 135 votes were cast in the by-election.

Air Ronge has a population of 1,365 residents, based on the 2021 Statistics Canada census.
