Saskatchewan RCMP’s Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU) is investigating a suspicious death on Canoe Lake Cree First Nation.
On March 16, 2026, Beauval RCMP received a report that a female was receiving treatment in the hospital for serious injuries.
The female died of her injuries on March 17 and she has been identified as a 51-year-old female from Canoe Lake Cree First Nation.
Initial investigation has determined the female’s death is suspicious in nature.
HIU continues to investigate and advise there will be an increased police presence in Canoe Lake Cree First Nation for an undetermined amount of time.
Investigators are asking anyone with information report it to HIU by dialling 310-RCMP.
