The Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP are investigating after receiving reports of an adult male armed with a firearm and a knife.
One male was assaulted, who reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP located the male parked in a vehicle on Burnouf Street and officers searched the vehicle, and found a firearm, machete, as well as other weapons were seized.
The male was arrested on site.
As a result, 24-year-old Taza McCallum from Île-à-la-Crosse is charged with:
one count, using firearm in commission of offence, Section 85(2), Criminal Code;
two counts, assault with a weapon or causing bodily harm, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;
four counts, uttering threats, Section 264.1(1), Criminal Code;
five counts, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code; and
one count, assault with a weapon or causing bodily harm, Section 267(c), Criminal Code.
Taza McCallum is appearing next in Île-à-la-Crosse court on March 9, 2026.
