Punnichy RCMP make an arrest after receiving a report of a kidnapping with a firearm in Kelliher, Sk.
On March 19, 2026 at approximately 8:45 p.m., Punnichy RCMP received a call of a kidnapping with a firearm.
Investigation determined a male was sitting in a parked vehicle outside a business in Kelliher.
A second male approached the vehicle, pointed a firearm at the victim, threatened him, and entered the vehicle.
The suspect ordered the victim to drive and the victim complied, later parking near a residence on George Gordon First Nation.
While parked, a male and female approached the vehicle to assist the victim and an altercation occurred between the assisting individuals and the suspect.
The suspect broke one of the vehicle’s windows and deployed bear mace towards the male and female.
Punnichy RCMP responded and arrested the male at the scene on George Gordon First Nation.
All three victims were assessed by EMS at the scene for injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
The suspect was taken to hospital for further assessment of injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
During the arrest and a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located and seized a sawed-off firearm, ammunition, two cans of bear mace, a machete, a baton, approximately 36 grams of methamphetamine, approximately 24 grams of fentanyl, and approximately 6 grams of psilocybin.
As a result of continued investigation, 31-year-old Adrian Frank from Kelliher has been charged with multiple charges which include: pointing a firearm; kidnapping with a firearm; forcible confinement; uttering threats against a person (x2); assault with a weapon(x3); possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without license/registration; possession of a prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized; weapons possession contrary to order(x4); possession of a firearm/weapon/device/ammunition in motor vehicle; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x4); assault; carrying a concealed weapon(x3); and mischief equal to or less than $5000.
Adrian Frank appeared in court in Punnichy on March 24, 2026.
