The 57-year-old male victim of a shooting that occurred on June 4, 2025, in the 1900 block of 13th Street West has passed away in hospital on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
An autopsy was conducted on Thursday, March 19, 2026, with members of the Prince Albert Police Service’s Forensic Identification Section.
On July 23, 2025 police were called to a home for a shooting.
The victim was a landlord in Prince Albert and he was at a home in the process of an eviction when the shooting happened.
The victim had been in hospital since the shooting and has since succumbed to his injuries.
Through their investigation, on July 23, 2025, they were able to arrest a 24-year-old male suspect.
During the investigation, 24-year-old Preston Bird was charged with aggravated assault, breaching a conditional sentence order and numerous firearms related charges.
The investigation continues with the Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Office of the Chief Coroner.
