The 2026 Saskatchewan Winter Games, hosted by Flying Dust First Nation and the City of Meadow Lake is now underway.

The games, scheduled to run from February 15-21 held, held the opening ceremony this past Sunday officially launching the games.

1400 athletes from across the province will compete in the games representing nine district teams.

This will also be the first-time the games are hosted through a city–First Nation partnership.

Leaders described the collaboration as a point of pride and a reflection of the region’s spirit of unity.

The Games feature 17 sports, including artistic swimming, curling, biathlon, target shooting, and cross-country and para nordic skiing.
