The Saskatchewan First Nations Natural Resources Centre of Excellence has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Creative Fire.

The goal of the agreement will be to increase the capacity of the centre and allow it to further support Indigenous-led natural resource and mineral development.

Creative Fire is an Indigenous strategy and communications firm owned by English River First Nation.

“This partnership strengthens how we support First Nations as they navigate increasingly complex resource development environments,” said Sheldon Wuttunee, President and CEO, Saskatchewan First Nations Natural Resources Centre of Excellence. “By working with Creative Fire, we are better positioned to elevate grassroots voices and ensure First Nations priorities are clearly understood.”

The two groups say the agreement will allow the resource centre to use Creative Fire’s communication infrastructure to further bolster its mandate.
