Prince Albert RCMP have identified the victim of a homicide and is seeking the public’s help in the investigation.
On February 4, RCMP towed a stolen truck that was found stuck east of Prince Albert off of Highway #302.
The truck was towed to a business in the city on 41st Street East.
On February 7, RCMP say fire broke out at the business. Multiple vehicles would catch fire including the truck previously towed.
The fire was extinguished by the Prince Albert Fire Department and was considered suspicious in nature by investigators.
RCMP say upon further examination of the fire, a body was located in the truck that had been previously towed.
The death was considered suspicious in nature and the RCMP Homicide Investigation Unit was brought in to lead the investigation.
On Friday, RCMP identified the person who died as 39-year-old Stacey Badger from Mistawasis Nehyawak.
RCMP say her family has been notified.
Mounties are now asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of 41 Street East in Prince Albert between Feburary 6 and 7 to come forward.
Investigators are also asking anyone who had recent contact with Stacey Badger to come forward as well.
