RCMP say no arrests have been made following a fatal shooting and dangerous persons alert on Big Island Lake Cree Nation last month.

The RCMP issued the dangerous persons alert on December 30 after one person was killed and three people were injured in a shooting.

Mounties say the person who died was a 31-year-old man, but could not provide an update for the three other victims in hospital.

Investigators also continue to investigate if another shooting in the community this past weekend was related.

RCMP say several other resources have been brought in to help in the investigation.

In the meantime, authorities are asking anyone with information on these events to come forward.

“If you saw something, say something,” said Inspector Ashley St. Germaine, senior investigative officer with Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Branch in a media release sent out be the RCMP on Monday night. “While investigators continue to collect and analyze evidence, including video surveillance, eyewitness accounts will be key to providing answers to the victims and their families.”

RCMP say further updates will be provided and if a risk to public safety is identified the public will be notified.
