The Metis Nation-Saskatchewan has reprimanded a member of the Provincial Metis Council after voicemails were posted to social media.

The voicemails are of Brent Dingness repeatedly using inappropriate, offensive, and derogatory language at one point threatening to withhold help from the MN-S “as long as I am around.”

Who the voicemails were directed to has not been released publicly.

Audio of the voicemails were posted to social media prompting MN-S President Glen McCallum to post a statement on the situation.

In the Statement, McCallum says the MN-S does not condone this behavioud and Dingness will be removed from his ministerial portfolios.

McCallum says while the situation is serious, he hopes it will not distract from the important work ahead.

In the meantime, while Dingness has had his ministerial portfolios removed he will continue to have his seat at the Provincial Metis Council as the matter goeas before an MN-S Government Ethics Committee.
