Saskatchewan RCMP have charged a 37-year-old man from Melfort with second-degree murder in the death of an infant.
RCMP say the child was found in medical distress on December 24 and was taken to hospital.
According to RCMP, the initial investigation of the child’s injuries were suspicious in nature.
The infant would die in hospital on December 28.
RCMP say the 37-year-old man was arrested on January 3rd and charged with second degree murder.
RCMP are not releasing the name of the victim or the accused, but say they were known to each other.
The man was due in court Monday in Melfort.
