The provincial government has awarded the design contract for a new replacement school in Pinehouse.
The new school in the northern community will replace the Minahik Waskahigan High School.
It was approved it last year’s budget and is expected to be completed in 2028.
On Thursday morning, the government announced aodbt architecture and interior design was awarded the design contract.
“The awarding of design services for the new Pinehouse School project is a significant milestone,” Education Minister Everett Hindley said in a media release. “We are building more than just classrooms, we are building a foundation for lifelong learning that will support development and growth for the next generation of students and families in Northern Saskatchewan.”
The architecture firm, along with JPH Consulting, will be the core project team to build the school over the next few years.
