The Dakota Dunes Casino is celebrating the grand opening of an expansion to its casino space.

The casino hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon to celebrate over 11,000 feet of new gaming space in a new Smoking Room.

The expansion is the first phase of several planned upgrades at the casino to be rolled out over the next year.

“It’s great to see this project moving forward,” said STC Tribal Chief Mark Arcand.

“This expansion of the Dakota Dunes Casino is timely as we construct the Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa on the resort side of the property.” said Whitecap Dakota Chief Darcy Bear.

“We are excited to provide an even more amazing experience for our casino guests,” added Saskatchewan Indian and Gaming Authority President and CEO Zane Hansen.

Those three dignitaries were the speakers at the ribbon cutting event on Thursday officially opening the new gaming space to the public.

Other planned upgrades of the casino over the next year will see an expanded High Limit Room table game area and plans for a new food and beverage area.

These planned expansions should also coincide with the opening of the new Thermal Spa, which is expected to be open to the public some time in 2026.
