UPDATE:
Jason Pacik arrested Novemeber 26, 2025
The investigation began in January 2024, when the RCMP’s Central District Priority Support Unit launched a probe into Prairie Timber Group Limited, a company that marketed itself as a builder of timber homes and custom structures.
According to investigators, the individual presenting himself as the owner claimed he was affiliated with a well-known Canadian timber home company based in Ontario.
Victims reported signing contracts and paying for projects that were never delivered, and once payments were made, they were unable to reach anyone from the business.
RCMP officers have continued to work closely with victims and collaborating with external agencies to collect evidence.
Their work led to charges being laid on November 18, 2025.
Pacik, a Saskatoon resident, has been charged with one count of fraud under $5,000 and one count of fraud over $5,000.
“The investigators have already done an immense amount of work on this file – diligently collecting and sorting through evidence, much of which was financial in nature. Their tenacity has led to these charges being laid – and the potential for justice for the victims of these frauds,” says S/Sgt. Billy Groenen, who oversees the Priority Support Unit.
“Their work continues. It’s believed that there may be more victims and that’s why we’ve released the name of the involved business. If you think you may have been a victim, please call your local police of jurisdiction.”
Saskatchewan RCMP continue to investigate.
