On behalf of the Premier of Saskatchewan, her Honour the Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre, presented the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal to Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte of the Prince Albert Grand Council on October 16, 2025.

This prestigious provincial award honours those who have more than 25 years of outstanding service and commitment to protecting Saskatchewan’s citizens and communities through taking an active role in community protection and public safety.

Grand Chief Hardlotte’s lifelong dedication to public service, which began as a firefighter, turned into training and now a regional leader promoting safer communities.

The Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal, established in 2003, recognizes exemplary long service for individuals working directly to protect people and/or property, as well as supervisory personnel in the public sector who ensure the safety, security, and protection of Saskatchewan citizens.

Individuals receiving the recognition, set high standards and pursue excellence in their work so citizens in Saskatchewan can live safe and secure lives.

The Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal celebrates those who provide protective services and draws attention to the work that emergency personnel, police, firefighters, and other safety and security professionals do.
