A few government grant programs are looking for applications from Indigenous projects.

The government says organizations and community groups can now apply for three different provincial grant opportunities designed to support Indigenous communities.

The opportunities are the First Nations and Metis Community Partnership Projects, First Nations and Metis Sponsorships, and the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Woman And Girls Community Response Fund.

“Our government is committed to reconciliation and supporting efforts that build safety, empowerment and meaningful partnerships,” Minister Responsible for First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs Eric Schmalz said. “These funding opportunities support Indigenous-led healing, growth and have a positive impact across Saskatchewan.”

Successful applicants may receive up to around $40,000.

Some of the grants applications windows will close on November 14 while others will close once funding is allocated.

Information on what programs are eligible and the criteria for submissions can be found on the Government of Saskatchewan’s website.
