Wild Rose Vets season 2 is now airing on APTN Monday nights at 8 pm (ET).

This series follows three Indigenous women from across Canada while they work, volunteer, and learn about their heritage.

There are three indigenous veterinarian on the show, Dr. Allison Hay, Dr. Cori Stephen, and Dr. Dayle Poitras-Oster.

MBC talked with Dr. Allison Hay about her career as a veterinarian and this season of Wild Rose Vets.

“The idea of having Indigenous women in a spotlight of amazing things that we’re capable of and being a role model to kids who also might want to grow up and be vets and to give them an idea of what that looks like, or even just folks to hear stories about amazing human-animal bonds that people have with their pets. That was something I could get behind,” explained Dr. Allison Hay.

This series shares stories of their busy lives as veterinarians while they work, volunteer, and learn about their heritage.

“We had Gwich’in roots, but we didn’t really have a way to learn about that. And it was something that I was always really scared to do. And looking back, I don’t know why I was so scared, but it’s basically also showing a bit of my journey of learning about that,” said Hay.

Sha also says that viewers will see many cute animals and heartwarming stories.

The show airs Monday evenings at 8 p.m. ET on APTN and can be streamed on Lumi.
